There Was a Little City...
"There was a little city, and few men within
it; and there came a great king against it,
and besieged it, and built great bulwarks
against it:
Now there was found in it a poor wise man,
and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet
no man remembered that same poor man.
Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength:
nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is
despised, and his words are not heard.
The words of wise men are heard in quiet
more than the cry of him that ruleth among
fools.
Wisdom is better than weapons of war: but
one sinner destroyeth much good.

James Version)

Pot Roast in the Crock Pot, Jesus in my heart
Just had a late breakfast of a bowl of steel cut oats, apples and cinnamon. My (Tuesday) Sunday Dinner Beef Roast is in the crock pot, starting to smell delicious.
Just got done playing a "new" song I've been
practicing. It's really not a new song. It was copyrighted in 1994. So, it's
not new. I just haven't played it before yesterday. I accompanied my vocals
with guitar. I got the free chords and
lyrics from a website on the internet. It's called "Burn In
Me", by Jerry Holman. It's a gospel song that I have sung in church
meetings quite a bit. It's a fun song. Very uplifting and encouraging.
I already made my daily pilgrimage to Shopper's Mecca, as I
call it (Walmart Supercenter that is; they’ve gone about as fur as they can go).
Picked up a few provisions.
Having a ball on this end. I was thinking today that I spent
11 years sitting with and serving people recovering from mental health
conditions; from the year 2000 to 2011. It's good to have time to do The Lord's
work in a different way than I have been doing so much. I need "Bill
time" for a change. It's a good change; a necessary change. Whew! I did
that a lot! Sheesh! Now’s the time for just me and The Lord. Whew!
Hope all's well on your end. Experiencing a winter thaw here
the last couple of days or so. It's been above freezing lately. Yesterday it
got up into the 40 degree range.
Last night I worked on getting more songs ready to send to
the U.S. Copyright Office and make another songbook. Maybe I'll do some more of
that kind of work today.
Staying busy is a good thing even if it's mainly watching
the "I Love God Show" on the “In Spirit and in Truth Channel”. You
can catch it on Channel 3:16.
Remember: Christ Jesus came preaching The Kingdom of Heaven.
We come preaching Christ Jesus, Who is The Kingdom of Heaven, crucified,
resurrected and Lord.
May God richly bless you on your spiritual journey through
eternity.

The seven last words of Jesus on the cross:
Are you weak and heavy laden? Cumbered with a world of care?
Here are some words of encouragement for you. The Holy Bible says, “…my
strength is made perfect in weakness.” (from 2 Corinthians 12: 9) The apostle Paul wrote that. I believe he was
inspired by The Holy Spirit to write it. To put it more in context, I will
share with you part of the passage from which it is taken:
“And lest I should be exalted above measure through the
abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the
messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For
this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said
unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in
weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the
power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in
reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake:
for when I am weak, then am I strong.” (2 Corinthians 12: 7-10)
Meditate on the following words as well, as you go through
your trials and tribulations. The following words are the words of the
strongest man that ever walked on the face of this planet, who was born of a
woman: the Son of God:
1. ”Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.”
(Luke 23: 34)
2. “Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in
paradise.” (Luke 23: 43)
3. “When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple
standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, ‘Woman, behold thy son!’
Then saith he to the disciple, ‘Behold thy mother!’ And from that hour that
disciple took her unto his own home.” (John 19: 26, 27)
4. “And about the
ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, ‘Eli, Eli lama sabachthani?’
that is to say, ‘My God, my god, why hast thou forsaken me’” (Matthew 27: 46)
5. “After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now
accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, ‘I thirst.’” (John
19: 28)
6. “Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they
filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, ‘It is finished.’: and
he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” (John 19: 29, 30)
7. “And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, ‘Father,
into thy hands I commend my spirit’: and having said thus, he gave up the
ghost.” (Luke 23: 46)

Bible.)

Romney Sheep
I hope no one takes offense at what I'm about to share. I don't want to offend anyone, but I hate politics and lately I have grown to hate politicians. I'm just not into it anymore. But, I did a little study on sheep because of my interest in The Holy Bible.
Now, Job was the most
prosperous man in the east and, after his time of tribulation when he lost everything, God doubled his
wealth, not in billions of dollars and cents, or gold, but in sheep, camels,
oxen and she donkeys! That's prosperity to The Lord! (I'm blathering about God.)
Anyway, in my studying about sheep, I came upon a breed of sheep called Romney. I copied and pasted the
link to a picture of one below. It's a breed found in the UK. I thought, since
Mitt Romney is running for president, it might be of interest to someone.
You may say, "Who cares? I hate politics and am sick of it all." I can't blame you. So am I. But, fact of the matter is, we'll probably have another president, and his name may be Romney. Just so you know, this is what a Romney looks like:

Can you believe Job was the most prosperous man in the east and the definition of that prosperity is that God gave him 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 oxen and 1,000 she donkeys? That's biblical prosperity!

Where are we going? What are
we doing? If God were on earth, would He be the least bit reliant on oil?
Automobiles? Money? Gold? Maybe a little, but, I think we need to seek His face
and ask Him what on earth we're supposed to do with this mess we're in!
Just a thought.
Peace and joy,

Why Right? Why Left?
Been studying the scriptures for a few hours today as well as watching and praying. Perfect opportunity to do things like that. Very thankful The Lord provided books for me to flesh out words in The Bible (as well as His Holy Spirit--even more so) and a time and place in which to do it. "the government shall be upon His shoulder..." (Isaiah 9:6b). Thank You God for The Messiah and the United States of America! Our government! God bless the USA!
I did a study on left and right today. These words are significant. There's just so much about God to know and understand. I'm really seeking to understand the scriptures in which I've professed to believe for almost all my life.
"And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left." (Matthew 25:32,33). (Why left? Whyright? There's just so much to know).
"IF YE then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the righthand of God." (Colossians 3:2,3) (Why right? There's just so much to know).
According to my Bible dictionary, the left was considered sinister. The word "right" is in the word "righteous", which would imply "good" (Why left? Why right? There's just so much to know).
"Standing on the right also indicates the place of the accuser in judicial settings. (from The International Bible Encyclopedia) (Why right? There's just so much to know).
"Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his righthand." (Psalm 109:6). (Why right? There's just so much to know).
"Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at theright hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." (Romans 8:34). (Why right? There's just so much to know).
There's just so much to know and understand about God and the Kingdom of Heaven. I've got so far to go to have the understanding I need to give God all the glory even half as well as Jesus did in His short life on earth.
He said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." (John 14:12,13)
I guess the best we can do is try to live in accordance with the scriptures and give Him the glory as much as we can. "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." (Proverbs 3:6).
"...Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law." (Romans 13:9b, 10)
Hopefully, we can pray for our leaders and those in authority over us so we can continue to live quiet, peaceable lives, and can study and understand the mysteries of the scriptures and know how we are supposed to live in accordance with the scriptures and walk according to the spirit and to give God the glory.
"I EXHORT therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved , and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time." (1 Timothy 2:1-6)
Prepare to die! It's inevitable.
"And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barn. and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
But God said unto him Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee; then whose shall those things be, which thou has provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God." (Luke 12:16-21).

Well, I had quite a bit of excitement in my life yesterday. I officiated at my first wedding. I had planned a wedding with this couple in 2010 and for some reason it didn't take place until yesterday. I was pleased (not to mention, totally thrilled) at how well it turned out.
We had the ceremony in the courtyard of our apartment building. Had a great turnout of folks who came to act as witnesses and welcome the couple as newlyweds for the first time. It was a Christian ceremony, so I had a ball. They're both Christian and so it was encouraging to everyone to see them tie the knot. The groom came to quite a few of our Church meetings we held here in our community room.
Hopefully, it planted the seed in the hearts of those present to make a similar decision if they haven't done so already (unless, of course, like me, they are celibate and don't burn with passion for anyone; in which case, they're better off staying single).
Peace and joy,
Bill
