AN EYE-OPENER TO ME ABOUT BABYLON

“…the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” (1 Corinthians 1:25)

MANY YEARS AGO I READ A BOOK CALLED, “THE RICHEST MAN IN BABYLON”. IT WAS MAN’S WISDOM ABOUT A MAN WHO GOT RICH IN A RICH CITY. IT WAS A SKINNY, LITTLE BOOK, ABOUT THE SIZE OF, "THE REVELATION TO JOHN" IN "THE HOLY BIBLE".

A FEW YEARS AFTER THAT, I READ A BOOK CALLED, “THE HOLY BIBLE”. I REALIZED THERE IS LIFE AFTER THIS LIFE. I REALIZED THERE ARE RICHES BEYOND OUR WILDEST BELIEF IN THE NEXT LIFE IN A CITY CALLED THE NEW JERUSALEM (HEAVEN), WHERE WE CAN GO IF WE BELIEVE IN JESUS.

 IF WE GET CAUGHT UP IN THE RICHES AND THINGS OF THIS LIFE, THEY CAN PROVE TO BE A SNARE AND CAN STRANGLE OUR ETERNAL LIFE. IF WE GET CAUGHT UP IN WORLDLY RICHES WE MISS OUT ON THE RICHES GOD THE FATHER HAS PLANNED TO GIVE US; NOT ONLY IN THIS LIFE, BUT IN THE NEXT, AS WELL. THE BIBLE TELLS US WE CANNOT SERVE GOD AND MONEY (MATTHEW 6:24).

THE FOLLOWING EXCERPT GIVES US A SPIRITUAL GLIMPSE OF WHAT THE CITY OF BABYLON IS. I WISH YOU WOULD READ THE HOLY BIBLE SO YOU CAN SEE THE TRUTH ABOUT THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN VERSUS BABYLON. THE OLD TESTAMENT PROPHETS WARN US ABOUT BABYLON.

 I HOPE YOU WON’T GET LEAD ASTRAY BY THE SNARES OF THIS LIFE. I BELIEVE, THE HOLY BIBLE PROMISES YOU CAN HAVE PROSPERITY, HEALTH AND SUCCESS, NOT ONLY IN THIS LIFE, BUT IN THE HEREAFTER, AS WELL. THE FOLLOWING IS A FEW VERSES FROM THE BOOK OF THE REVELATION TO JOHN:

“…[the angel] bore me away [rapt] in the Spirit into a desert (wilderness), and I saw a woman seated on a scarlet beast that was all covered with blasphemous titles (names), and he had seven heads and ten horns.

The woman was robed in purple and scarlet and bedecked with gold, precious stones, and pearls, [and she was] holding in her hand a golden cup full of the accursed offenses and the filth of her lewdness and vice.

And on her forehead there was inscribed a name of mystery [with a secret symbolic meaning]: Babylon the great, the mother of prostitutes (idolatresses) and of the filth and atrocities and abominations of the earth.
