Don’t worry. Give all you cares and anxieties to Jesus. He really
cares for you. Some of you are worrying about me and others in your lives. Don’t.
I’m staying close to The Good Shepherd. He will keep me safe from the tempter’s
snare; so I don’t get back into the sin that caused so much calamity and
affliction in my life.
Do what I do when I get down in the dumps. Just whistle a
happy tune or sing a psalm, hymn or spiritual song. Bust out a tambourine and
dance (if you have legs to do it). Read The Holy Bible. Pray The Our Father, as
Jesus taught us to pray. Keep the faith.
Here are the words to an old time gospel song copyrighted in
1922, by Helen H. Lemmel. It’s called, “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus”. I sing this one every now and then and it
gives me great comfort. If you don’t have a hymn book, get one. Hymns are so
uplifting and comforting. It’s a nice poem to recite, even if you don’t know
the melody.
Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
O soul, are you wary and troubled,
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.
His word shall not fail you, He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well,
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.
